EVEN MORE POEMS BY ANDREA SHAVICK
Note: the pocket money poem appears in Words
to Whisper Words to Shout, which has just been shortlisted for the Blue Peter
Award 2003. I've got other poems in the anthology too and am keeping my fingers
crossed!
I HAVEN’T GOT A PET
I’ve got a father and a mother
And a very smelly brother
A grandma and a grandpa
But I haven’t got a pet
I’ve got an auntie and an uncle
Little sisters by the dozen
Ninety seven second cousins
But I haven’t got a pet
Except………..
I have got a slug
Which I keep under the rug
Don’t tell Mum!
TIME TO GET OUT
Splish splash in the bath
Why does Mum never laugh
Why does Mum scream and shout
When she wants us to get out?
Just because the ceiling’s wet
Doesn’t mean it’s bedtime yet.
